Terms of Service

Version 2.0 · Effective date: September 22, 2026

1. Acceptance of these Terms

Welcome to Bib. These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Bib Innovations LLC ("Bib," "we," "us," or "our") and govern your access to and use of the Bib mobile and web applications and related services (together, the "Service").

By creating an account, tapping "I Agree," or otherwise accessing or using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the Service only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms. You represent that you meet these requirements and that the information you provide to us is accurate.

3. The Service

Bib is an endurance-activity platform for discovering, registering for, and following races and other athletic events; recording personal results and records; and connecting with friends and clubs. Bib may aggregate results and activity data from third-party services you choose to connect. Features may change, expand, or be discontinued over time.

4. Your account

You are responsible for the information you provide, for keeping your login credentials confidential, and for all activity that occurs under your account. Choose a username consistent with our rules and do not impersonate any person or organization. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use of your account. You may edit your account details and privacy settings at any time within the app.

5. User content and conduct

You retain ownership of the content you post — including profile details, photos, club posts, and comments ("User Content"). By posting User Content, you grant Bib a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, and display that content solely to operate and provide the Service.

You agree not to:

We may remove content or suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, but we are not obligated to monitor User Content.

6. Clubs and events

Clubs and events are created and managed by users. Club owners and admins are responsible for the events they host and the content their club publishes. Bib does not organize, sanction, sponsor, or insure any event listed on the Service, and is not responsible for any event's conduct, safety, accuracy, cancellation, or refunds. Registering for an event through Bib may also make you subject to that event organizer's own rules and terms.

7. Assumption of risk, waiver, and release — READ CAREFULLY

This section limits your legal rights. It applies every time you use Bib and to every event you find, enter, follow, or record through Bib.

(a) Bib is a technology platform, not a race organizer. Bib publishes listings, takes indications of participation, imports results, and provides social and tracking features. Bib does not organize, produce, promote, sanction, sponsor, time, staff, insure, inspect, or supervise any event, course, or activity, including events created by clubs on Bib and events Bib lists that it does not host. The organizer of each event is solely responsible for that event — its course, its markings and marshalling, its medical and emergency provision, its permits and insurance, its entry requirements, its results, and its refunds and cancellations.

(b) Endurance activity carries inherent risks. Running, cycling, swimming, triathlon, trail and obstacle events and similar activities involve inherent risks of serious injury, permanent disability, and death, along with risks of property loss. Those risks include, without limitation: your own physical condition, exertion, dehydration and cardiac events; weather, heat, cold, water and terrain; traffic and other vehicles; the course and its surface, markings, and hazards; equipment failure; the acts or omissions of other participants, spectators, volunteers, organizers, and third parties; and inadequate or delayed medical attention. Some risks are inherent and cannot be eliminated regardless of care taken. You are voluntarily choosing to take part with knowledge of these risks, and you assume them all — known and unknown.

(c) You are responsible for your own fitness and conduct. You represent that you are physically fit and able to participate, and that you have consulted a physician if there is any reason to doubt it. Bib provides no medical advice, coaching, screening, or supervision. You are responsible for reading and following each event's rules, entry requirements, cut-off times, and the instructions of that event's organizers, officials, marshals, and emergency personnel, and for obeying all traffic and other laws while participating.

(d) Bib's tracking, results, and notification features may fail, and must not be relied on for safety. Live location, the race-day map, spectator following, results, and push notifications depend on GPS accuracy, your device and its battery, mobile network coverage, third-party services, and correct settings — all of which routinely fail or lag, especially in crowds, on trails, in water, and in remote areas. These features are for convenience and enjoyment only. They are not a safety, emergency, medical, monitoring, timing, or navigation service, and must never be used as a substitute for one. A position shown on Bib may be delayed, inaccurate, or absent; an absence of data does not mean anyone is safe or unsafe. In an emergency, contact the event's organizers or your local emergency number — not Bib.

(e) Consent to location tracking and messages. Location sharing is optional and off by default. If you turn it on for a race, you consent to your device collecting and transmitting your precise location including while the app is in the background or your device is locked, and to Bib storing and showing that position to the audience you choose — your accepted friends, or, if you select it, anyone watching that race, including people without a Bib account. You can turn sharing off at any time in Settings or from the race-day screen, and it stops automatically when the race ends. If you enable notifications, you consent to receiving them; you can control them by category in Settings and at the operating-system level. Consider your personal safety before making your location visible, and only share if you are comfortable doing so.

(f) Release and covenant not to sue. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, you release, waive, and discharge Bib Innovations LLC and its officers, directors, employees, contractors, and agents (together, the "Released Parties") from any and all claims, demands, damages, losses, costs, and expenses of any kind — including those arising from the Released Parties' own ordinary negligence — that arise out of or relate to your participation in, travel to or from, or preparation for any event or activity; any event organizer's or third party's acts or omissions; any course, venue, or equipment; any failure, inaccuracy, delay, or unavailability of Bib's tracking, results, or notification features; or any injury, death, illness, or property loss suffered in connection with any of the foregoing. You agree not to bring any claim against the Released Parties for anything within this release.

(g) What this section does not do. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited — including liability for gross negligence, recklessness, willful or intentional misconduct, or fraud, and, where applicable law so provides, for death or personal injury caused by negligence. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of certain damages, and some limit or prohibit pre-injury releases; in those places this section applies only to the maximum extent that jurisdiction allows, and the remainder of these Terms stays in force. If you are a minor in your jurisdiction, a parent or legal guardian must review and accept these Terms on your behalf.

(h) Each event's own waiver is separate and additional. An organizer may require you to accept their own waiver before Bib will record your entry (see Section 8). That waiver is an agreement between you and that organizer — Bib is not a party to it, does not draft, review, endorse, or enforce it, and accepting it neither replaces nor narrows this Section 7. You may also be required to sign further paperwork directly with the organizer at the event.

8. Event-specific waivers

An event organizer using Bib may attach a waiver specific to their event. Where they have, Bib will show you that waiver in full and require you to confirm you have read and agree to it before your entry is recorded, and will record which version you accepted and when.

What this means for you: the organizer's waiver is their document, not Bib's. Bib displays and stores it and passes your acceptance to the organizer's records. Bib does not draft, review, verify, endorse, or enforce any organizer's waiver, and makes no representation that it is accurate, complete, or enforceable. Any dispute about an event waiver is between you and that organizer. If an organizer changes their waiver, anyone registering after the change accepts the new version; if you have already registered, your acceptance of the earlier version stands and the organizer is responsible for telling you about material changes.

If you are an organizer: you are solely responsible for the waiver you publish — its content, its legality in your jurisdiction, and its enforceability. You represent that you have the right to use the text you upload and that it is not misleading. Bib is not your lawyer and provides no legal advice; you should have your waiver reviewed by counsel. You are responsible for any additional consents your event requires (medical, media, minors' consent signed by a parent or guardian, and so on), and for handling participants' acceptances in line with applicable law.

9. Location sharing

Bib offers optional live location sharing during events, as described in Section 7(d) and 7(e). Location sharing is off by default and you control whether you share, and whether your location is visible to your friends only or to all spectators. You may turn it off at any time in Settings. Only share your location if you are comfortable doing so; consider your personal safety before making your location visible to others.

10. Third-party integrations and data

You may connect third-party services (such as timing providers) to import your activities and results. Your use of those services is governed by their terms and privacy policies. Bib only accesses the data you authorize, and disconnecting a service or deleting your Bib account does not delete or alter your data on those third-party platforms. We are not responsible for third-party services or their availability.

11. Intellectual property

The Service — including its software, design, logos, and trademarks — is owned by Bib or its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for its intended purpose. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works from the Service except as expressly permitted.

12. Privacy

Our collection and use of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you consent to those practices. Please review the Privacy Policy to understand how we handle your data, including activity and location information.

13. Termination and account deletion

You may stop using the Service and permanently delete your account at any time from Settings. Deleting your account removes the data that originated in Bib (your profile, results, records, badges, posts, registrations, and clubs you own), but does not affect data held by third-party platforms. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or to protect the Service or other users. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 7, 7A, 10, 13, 14, and 15) will survive.

14. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. Bib does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that any results, times, or data shown are accurate or complete.

15. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BIB AND ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR USD $100. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.

16. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Bib from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your User Content, your participation in any event, or your violation of these Terms or of any law or third-party right.

17. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the version and effective date and ask you to review and accept the updated Terms within the app before continuing to use the Service. Your continued use after an update constitutes acceptance.

18. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts located in Delaware, unless otherwise required by applicable law.
